Day 6 - Review

Check List of things done today:

* Did not take Ladybug for walk before leaving for work. Overslept and opted for a shower instead of a walk. I figured the people at work would approve of that choice. MUST walk her when I get home.

* Finished 2 bottles of water, started a 3rd

* Made 2 stairway/building runs today

Day's End Observations:
It was very difficult to keep from diving into the comfort food last night. I had the one hostess ding dong, and it really didn't taste that good. But I wanted so much more. I found out yesterday that one of my online friends from DragonRealms died this past week. Once I got past the tears, I just wanted to curl up on the couch and eat and not think. I managed to get a grip on it by going into the game and playing a little and then going straight to bed with a book. By the time I realized I hadn't taken Ladybug for a walk I was already in bed and did not have the determination to get dressed and head back out into the cold. Seems I'm proving to myself that if I don't do it early in the morning, I'm likely to just blow it off. Bad habit to get into. I'll have to find a way to combat that.

Hi! I'm Jill. We are a member of the same community "body buddies". I added you, hope that's okay.
I'm on a similar track you are. We could encourage each other!

I'm just going through your LJ and getting to know you, hence the comments all at once!

One thing that has been a *brilliant* investment in our house has been a popcorn machine. Ours cost about $20 (we bought it from K-mart) and it has lasted about 10 years so far. Then we just keep a big Tupperware container of unpopped corn in the pantry, and it's a cheap, healthy snack whenever we want something to munch.

I'm sorry about the loss of your friend.

Thank you. He was quite the vibrant fellow and not one to want a lot of tears at his memory. He'd much rather a big party with lots of flirting. He will be greatly missed.

With popcorn, do you find that the popper variety is less fattening and/or better tasting than the microwave?

I just find the popping machine is easier than the microwave...no mess or anything. You just shove in the measured amount of popcorn (the machine comes with a little shovel to tell you how much per 'popping'), and then turn it on, and the popped popcorn shoots out the top into a huge bowl I have for the purpose. Then I just put salt or icing sugar on it or whatever, and it's an instant snack.

When I have lots of friends over, it also saves me LOTS of money. I was going broke buying Pringles and nuts all time, and now I just do popcorn. People even enjoy popping their own! Go figure. But I love the stuff. The machine has paid for itself a zillion times over by now.
